this basically works, but needs a lot more concentrated flavours than the home made version. will keep testing.

Todays custard based ice cream is a test, as I’m using store bought custard. Objective: find out if this is an alternative if a quick ice cream is desired.
Now churning away in the ice machine

#DeepL eats trailing spaces!
I wrote up a recipe this morning and had DeepL translate it to English (I needed both a German and an English version) and was too lazy to type it twice.
So I typed it up in @drafts shared it to DeepL, translated, copied to a new draft. Looked perfect.
So used a @drafts action to send to Micro Blog, which duly cross posted to Mastodon. Perfect.
A wee while later I noticed that the trailing markdown spaces had disappeared from the ingredients list, turning the list into a paragraph on Micro Blog
#recipe #RahmGulasch #pork #gulash
2500 g pork goulash
1000 g onions, sliced
1200 ml chicken stock
600 ml whipping cream
3 tbsp chilli salt (salt, brown sugar, chilli, pepper, allspice, mustard seeds, cloves)
bunch tarragon
Lemon zest
Bring to the boil, finish simmering in the oven at 130 C for 3 hours with the lid slightly open.
Caution: Cream curdles, just mix well and then thicken a little.
Season to taste with salt, pepper and lemon juice.
This gives a lot of sauce, maybe reduce the broth.
Today had a big DUH MOMENT regarding Obsidian synching on IOS. Because I’m used to it, I created a vault in iCloud. BUT, this vault was also linked by Obsidian Sync to my work machine (windows).
Result, annoying sync errors.
The solution, kill the vault, make a new one on device only, reestablish obsidian sync. Done.

I needed (read that as wanted) to make a lot of pancakes, I also wanted to use some buckwheat in the recipe
This is what I came up with after some research in my notes and the internet
350 g wheat flour (450) 150 g buckwheat flour 1 l of milk (3,5% fat) 8 medium eggs
The batter was rested for about 2 hours before baking
Worked and tested great
